Troika Card Now Available in Magnit

Krasnodar, April 29, 2020: Starting April 30, Troika cards will be available in Magnit Convenience and Magnit Family formats in Moscow. Customers will be able to purchase the card for 50 rubles.

“During the self-isolation period, many Moscow residents cannot purchase the Troika in the way they are used to. Therefore, on April 22, we launched free delivery of Troika cards in cooperation with Yandex.Lavka, and starting April 30, the city’s residents will be able to purchase the card in Magnit stores in Moscow,” — reported the Moscow Metro Press Service.

“Troika cards are available in nearly 450 of the Company’s convenience stores and supermarkets in Moscow. Being a convenient service, it allows people to minimize movement around the city and reduce health risks,” — commented Ruslan Ismailov, Magnit’s Director for Retail Chain Management.

Having purchased Troika, one will then need to top it up. This can be done at ticket offices, automated ticket terminals of Moscow Metropolitan, Mosgortrans automated kiosks, as well as remotely, via the Moscow Metro mobile app, Moscow Transport Portal, and partner websites. To activate the payment, one needs to tap their card on the yellow terminals at any Moscow Metro station.

Since April 22, Moscow public transport has been available exclusively under Troika and social cards that are linked to a digital pass. To link the transport card to the pass, one needs to specify the card number when issuing a digital pass on mos.ru website.

The card must be linked to the digital pass no less than 5 hours before the planned trip. One may use Moscow Transport Portal https://transport.mos.ru/mostrans/services/nedoma in order to check whether the card was linked successfully.

At the same time, payment of fares using paper tickets, bank cards, and turnstile terminals has been suspended temporarily. Valid paper tickets will be extended for the period they have not been used since April 22, 2020.
